La Vega Elementary
Helping your child realize the value of education is extremely important. Your presence at school is one way to show your love and encouragement.

We invite you to come to school to volunteer your time and talents. Volunteers may be moms, dads, grandparents, and community members. We value you as a volunteer and appreciate your dedication to the children as a supportive aide, role model and mentor. This is also a great way to get to know the teachers, parents and students at LVE.

Fall Festival Booths:
Help supervise carnival booths during our Fall Festival. This year’s festival will be held on November 1st at 5-7 p.m. in the cafeteria & gym. If you are interested in helping with a booth, please contact Ms. Nevills in the front office. Thank you in advance!

Room Parents:
You should meet with the teacher in your room to understand how she wants to utilize the room parent volunteers, and to understand any preferences she has for the types of events in the classroom. Coordination of class parties, collection for teacher appreciation gifts, and other duties as assigned by your child’s teacher are examples of room parent duties.

Library Assistants:
Help the Librarian with clerical tasks, shelve books, and assist students during the book fair.

Field Trips:
Parents may assist teachers, as needed, for field trips. This volunteer provides direct service to the students or can reasonably expect to supervise students on an off-site field trip.
