Sight words letter

Dear Parents,

“Animal Eyes” are high frequency words that need to stick in your child’s mind.  These words are very common in books that your child will be reading.   Please practice the words.  Your child should be able to read the words without sounding them out.

The first list, “Deer Eyes” will be for the first six weeks.  The following lists “Zebra, Monkey, Giraffe, Tiger, Bear, Eagle, Wolf, Cheetah, Lion and T-Rex” will be given every three weeks.    I will be assessing “Animal Eyes” on Fridays.  The goal is for your child to successfully read all animal eye word lists by the end of first grade.  The more they practice, the quicker they move up to the next animal.

Thank you for all your help.  If you have any questions, please call me 254-799-1721, email me at
