Now:  Morgan's Minions Spring 2020

So much has changed since the beginning of the school year!  I am still SO excited to be your teacher, but we are meeting in a much different way.  Our classroom has changed from La Vega Elementary School to our virtual classroom called Morgan's Minions on Seesaw.  Each day, with every new assignment, we will learn to navigate our new on-line classroom.  Please watch for messages on school status each day for news about lessons, dates for possible school openings, meal times, and packet distributions.  Continue to use the tabs at the right for up-to-date information.

I am SO excited about our new school year and the opportunity to share with you what is happening in our classroom and at our school.  On the tabs to the right you can find information about our class and what is going on at our school.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year.  I am bubbling with excitement to meet you!  Parents, students, and teachers all working together is a powerful combination which contributes to academic achievement.  Let's make this year a GREAT year of learning!

I have been an elementary school teacher for 21 years!  I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grades.  I have been a 3rd grade teacher at La Vega Elementary School since 2012.  I love being a Pirate!  I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  I attended Michigan State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Communications.  To warm up after all those cold winters up north, I went south and earned my master's degree in Public Administration at the University of Texas at Austin.  A life-long learner, I also earned certification in elementary and gifted education at Baylor University.  I am married and have four children.  We are a family of bears, frogs, and tigers because two of my children are Baylor graduates, one recently graduated from Texas Christian University, and our fourth child attends Trinity University.  I enjoy travel and recently visited New York City, where I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge.  I also love dogs.  So in my spare time I enjoy fostering dogs for the Waco Humane Society.  I take in abandoned dogs and try to find loving homes for them.  Sometimes I become too attached and end up adopting the dogs myself.  I also enjoy cooking and eating unique foods.   I look forward to getting to know your child and helping them to be the best they can be!
